WHAT IS IN PROBIO7?

The unique Probio 7 formulation is the result of over 10 years research. Each convenient capsule contains over 4 billion ‘good’ bacteria, made up of Probio7’s a unique blend of 7 types of Friendly Bacteria:

Inulin can first be described as a fibrous carbohydrate that can be classified as a starch. This substance can be found in a variety amount of foods such as vegetables, fruits, and herbs. Inulin is in the class of compounds known as fructans and is a naturally occurring oligosaccharide, meaning it has several simple sugars linked together.

Since inulin is not absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract, it is considered to be a fibre. Inulin has a sweeter taste to it, so some people may definitely use this as a sweetener for a variety of things.

Since it is a fibre and is not digested in the gastrointestinal tract, it goes down to the large intestine where your bacteria uses it to prosper, making it considered to be prebiotic.

Examples of foods that contain inulin:

✓ Sweet potatoes
✓ Asparagus
✓ Wheat
✓ Onions
✓ Bananas
✓ Garlic

Inulin Fiber Uses
Studies have linked the consumption of inulin-type prebiotics to many other health benefits as well, including:

✓ better infant nutrition, growth and development
✓ gastrointestinal health
✓ colon cancer prevention
✓ better blood sugar control
✓ healthier cholesterol levels and improved lipid metabolism
✓ improved bone mineralization
✓ protection from fatty liver disease
✓ protection from obesity
✓ better immunity

Good bacteria basically live off of fibers within the diet, which is why high-fiber foods like fruit, leafy greens and beans/legumes are said to be good for gut health.

Is There a Dietary Requirement for Inulin?

While there isn’t a requirement or recommended amount of inulin you should aim for every day, consuming it regularly can contribute to your daily fiber intake. People around the world are believed to consume inulin every single day in the form of natural plant foods and some packaged products. Archaeological evidence from the Chihuahuan Desert near New Mexico suggests that ancient populations living in this region who ate plant-based diets probably consumed about 135 grams of prebiotic inulin-type fructans every single day!

Are There Any Inulin Side Effects or Interactions?

Inulin is non-allergic and safe for most people to consume considering it’s completely natural and present in many foods. Studies have shown that chicory is rarely allergenic, and when foods containing inulin cause reactions, it’s usually due to other compounding ingredients like peanuts, milk, soy, shellfish and wheat.

That being said, some people don’t react very well to eating high amounts of certain types of fibers or carbohydrates. Inulin is considered a FODMAP, a class of carbohydrates that are rapidly fermented in the colon and can produce gas and digestive issues for some people.

For people with sensitives to FODMAPs (like those with irritable bowel syndrome on an IBS diet or who have inflammatory bowel disorders), drawing water into the colon in large quantities can lead to worsened symptoms, like cramps, gas and bloated stomach. (12) It’s a good idea to add inulin or other concentrated fibers to your diet slowly to test their effects and also to drink plenty of water to help with lubrication.

Soy Fiber Is a Good Source of Prebiotics. When treated with pressure and an enzyme, the dietary fiber becomes 58% soluble and a prebiotic. Prebiotics are essentially food for gut bacteria, which allows them to thrive and maintain healthy digestion.

What is Lactobacillus Acidophilus?

Lactobacillus acidophilus is a bacteria that exists naturally in the body, primarily in the intestines and the vagina. Lactobacillus acidophilus has been used as a probiotic, or “friendly bacteria.”

Lactobacillus acidophilus has been used in alternative medicine as a likely effective aid in treating diarrhea in children with rotavirus.

Lactobacillus acidophilus has been used in alternative medicine as a possibly effective aid (in children or adults) in preventing diarrhea caused by antibiotics, travel, chemotherapy, or hospitalization. Lactobacillus acidophilus is also possibly effective in treating irritable bowel syndrome, bacterial vaginal infection, colic in babies, lung infections in children, skin problems in children who are allergic to milk, and other conditions.

Lactobacillus acidophilus has also been used to treat lactose intolerance, Crohn’s disease, overgrowth of bacteria in the intestines, or vaginal yeast infections caused by antibiotics. However, research has shown that lactobacillus acidophilus may not be effective in treating these conditions.

Other uses not proven with research have included treating indigestion, urinary tract infections, intestinal problems in premature babies, high cholesterol, lyme disease, cold sores, acne, cancer, the common cold, and other conditions.

It is not certain whether lactobacillus acidophilus is effective in treating any medical condition. Medicinal use of this product has not been approved by the FDA. Lactobacillus acidophilus should not be used in place of medication prescribed for you by your doctor.

Lactobacillus acidophilus is often sold as an herbal supplement. There are no regulated manufacturing standards in place for many herbal compounds and some marketed supplements have been found to be contaminated with toxic metals or other drugs. Herbal/health supplements should be purchased from a reliable source to minimize the risk of contamination.

Lactobacillus acidophilus may also be used for other purposes not listed in this product guide.

What is Lactobacillus Casei?

Probiotics such as L. casei are generally considered safe and potentially helpful in regulating the digestive system. There have been many promising studies involving L. casei.

Researchers in a 2007 trial studied a probiotic drink containing L. casei, L. bulgaricus, and S. thermophiles. They concluded that it may reduce the incidence of antibiotic-associated diarrhea and C. difficile-associated diarrhea. No adverse events were reported.

A 2003 study showed that a probiotic drink containing Lactobacillus casei Shirota was a beneficial adjunctive therapy for people with chronic constipation. A later study looked at people with Parkinson’s disease. That one revealed that regular intake of milk fermented with Lactobacillus casei Shirota can improve bowel habits of people with the disease.

Researchers for a 2014 clinical trial found that L. casei supplements can help alleviate symptoms and improve inflammatory cytokines in women with RA.

There is a growing body of research into L. casei and other probiotics. But to date, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) hasn’t approved L. casei or any other probiotic for the treatment of a specific health problem.

When you don’t have enough of the good bacteria, adding more L. Casei to your diet can help regulate your digestive system.

Probiotic supplements containing L. Casei are used to prevent or treat diarrhea. This includes infectious diarrhea, traveler’s diarrhea, and antibiotic-associated diarrhea.

It may also have some effect on other digestive problems, including:

✓ colic
✓ constipation
✓ Crohn’s disease
✓ inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)
✓ irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
✓ lactose intolerance
✓ ulcerative colitis

L. casei may also be useful for:

✓ acne, hives, and fever blisters
✓ allergies, eczema, and dermatitis
✓ cold, flu, and respiratory infection
✓ ear infection (otitis media)
✓ oral health problems, such as plaque, gingivitis, and canker sores
✓ Helicobacter pylori infection, which causes stomach ulcers
✓ Lyme disease
✓ necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC), a serious intestinal disease common in premature infants
✓ rheumatoid arthritis (RA)
✓ urinary tract and vaginal infections

What is Streptococcus Thermophilus?

Streptococcus thermophilus is a thermophilic lactic acid bacterium traditionally and widely used as a starter in manufacturing dairy products such as cheese and yogurt.

At birth, S. thermophilus is among the first colonizers of the GI tract and may impact the maturation and homeostasis of the intestinal epithelium after birth.

Researched Benefits of S. thermophilus:

✓ improve digestion
✓ reduce antibiotic associated diarrhea
✓ decrease ulcerative colitis symptoms
✓ decrease leaky gut symptoms
✓ improve lactose digestion
✓ decrease IBS symptoms
✓ decrease acute diarrhea
✓ enhance immunity
✓ prevent & fight upper respiratory infections (eg. pneumonia)
✓ prevent ulcers caused by H. pylori
✓ decrease AIDS symptoms
✓ fight Clostridium difficile
✓ increase immunity
✓ additional health benefits
✓ improve non-breast-fed infant probiotic flora
✓ reduce symptoms of atopic dermatitis
✓ decrease chance of kidney stones
✓ increase HDL (good cholesterol)
✓ increase anti-tumor activity
✓ decrease baby colic

What is Bifidobacterium Bifidum?

Bifidobacteria are a group of bacteria that normally live in the intestines. They can be grown outside the body and then taken by mouth as medicine.

Bifidobacteria are commonly used for diarrhea, constipation, an intestinal disorder called irritable bowel syndrome, for preventing the common cold or flu, and lots of other conditions, but there is no good scientific evidence to support many of these uses.

How does it work?
Bifidobacteria belong to a group of bacteria called lactic acid bacteria. Lactic acid bacteria are found in fermented foods like yogurt and cheese. Bifidobacteria are used in treatment as so-called “probiotics,” the opposite of antibiotics. They are considered “friendly” bacteria and are taken to grow and multiply in areas of the body where they normally would occur. The human body counts on its normal bacteria to perform several jobs, including breaking down foods, helping the body take in nutrients, and preventing the take-over of “bad” bacteria. Probiotics such as bifidobacteria are typically used in cases when a disease occurs or might occur due to a kill-off of normal bacteria. For example, treatment with antibiotics can destroy disease-causing bacteria, but also normal bacteria in the GI (gastrointestinal) and urinary tracts. The theory is that taking Bifidobacterium probiotics during antibiotic treatment can prevent or minimize the death of good bacteria and the take-over by bad bacteria.

Bifidobacterium Bifidum Benefits:

✓ establish initial infant microflora
✓ increase immunity function
✓ fight yeast overgrowths
✓ decrease inflammation
✓ fight E. coli infections
✓ treat acute diarrhea
✓ decrease allergies
✓ reduce ulcers
✓fight Candida

What is Lactobacillus Bulgaricus?

Lactobacillus d. bulgaricus (L. d. bulgaricus) is a beneficial bacteria found in the digestive tract. Intestinal bacteria is referred to as gut flora or microbes. This strain of bacteria may also be found in foods or supplements. When it’s consumed, it’s referred to as probiotics.

The proper balance of gut flora helps to keep your intestinal walls strong and bad bacteria at bay, and can reduce the risk of chronic disease.

Probiotics are “good” bacteria that may play an important role in maintaining your health when consumed. The last decade has seen an explosion in the popularity of probiotics. But what does the research say about these bacteria? Read on to find out more.

The NIH did note some potential health benefits of L. d. bulgaricus and probiotics. Early-stage research suggests that they may play a role in managing the following health conditions:

✓  liver disease
✓  common cold
✓  diarrhea caused by antibiotics
✓  inflammatory bowel disease
✓  atopic dermatitis (eczema)
✓  allergic rhinitis (hay fever)
✓  colic
✓  tooth decay
✓  periodontal disease and other oral health problems
✓  preventing necrotizing enterocolitis

What is Bifidobacterium Longum?

Bifidobacterium longum is a specific species of microscopic non-pathogenic bacteria found naturally in the gastrointestinal tracts of humans as well as in most other animals. It is added to a variety of foods or dietary supplements as a probiotic due to its many health benefits. It is a gram-positive, branched rod-shaped bacterium that produces lactic acid from the fermentation of sugar in the gastrointestinal tract.

Bifidobacterium longum provides many health benefits as a naturally-occurring bacterium and as a probiotic. The lactic acid produced by the bacteria increases the acidity of the digestive tract, which helps inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria. Bifidobacterium longum also has been shown to treat constipation, reduce inflammation associated with inflammatory bowel conditions, prevent high cholesterol levels and reduce the development of certain allergies, according to probiotic.org. According to a study in the April 1997 issue of “Carcinogenesis,” Bifidobacterium longum showed anticarcinogenic and antimutagenic properties and may help inhibit the development of colon cancer. Probiotic supplements are also beneficial in repopulating Bifidobacterium longum colonies in the digestive tract that have been destroyed by antibiotic use.

What is Lactobacillus Lactis?

Lactococcus lactis is known as a bacterium that’s Gram-positive. It is used in the industry for the production of cheese and buttermilk. Lately, it was utilized as a genetically modified organism for treating various diseases. It’s the first alive organism used for this purpose.
If the bacterium is put into milk, it breaks down the lactose into energy molecules, ATP, with the help of various enzymes. The ATP’s byproduct is called lactic acid. This one is useful for coagulating the milk and then forming the curds that produce whey and cheese.
Moreover, Lactococcus lactis can be utilized for preparing fermented foods like sausages, breads, wine, beer and pickled vegetables. Many specialists stated that understanding and using the genetic and physiology functions of this bacterium would be extremely valuable for the pharmaceutical and food industries. The bacterium could be used to produce many beneficial drugs as well.

Lactobacillus Lactis Benefits:

Healthy digestion depends on the modulation and maintenance of the microflora contained in the gut. When an imbalance occurs, it is important and sometimes even vital to restore and replenish the probiotic organisms quickly.

This will occur naturally, in a healthy individual, over a period of 2-6 months, but many doctors prefer to supplement with probiotic bacteria to re-establish a healthy balance more quickly.

Many events can be responsible for an imbalance in the gut flora which allows pathogenic bacteria to gain a foothold:

✓ Treatment with antibiotics
✓ Infection with a foodborne pathogen like E. coli or Salmonella
✓ Acute stress
✓ Disease processes within the body

Bought this at boots, too. Over the moon to find it on Amazon as now I don’t have to make time to visit high street or pay Boot’s delivery charge! I always have stomach trouble that takes ages to get over when I am on antibiotics. This simply amazing product not only helped me with that but also helped with my digestive system when I get stressed, ill, large meals, nights out… you name it, it helps. I now panic a bit when I am nearly out! I no longer keep buying & taking different pro-biotic supplements trying to find one that works consistently. Give it a try, you won’t look back!

At the tender age of 52, I am very aware that at this time of life, weight can be put on very easily, especially in places where one doesn’t want it to go on! Having said that, I am very aware of what I eat, I exercise/get lots of exercise daily and drink PLENTY of fluids. I must say, though, that since taking the Prebio 7 capsules (before I used to take just a probiotic), I suffer from virtually no flatulence at all (sorry to mention the f………… word!), my bowels are extremely regular and – touch wood – I very rarely become ill. These capsules can only be described as a wonder capsule – I would recommend them to anyone, regardless of age, because it is extremely important to get into our bodies, as many pro and prebiotics, as possible. By buying in bulk, you save money than, say, purchasing them from larger chemists or health food stores. When I have finished this packet, I will definitely be purchasing more from Amazon.

Prebio 7 is nothing short of amazing. For many years I have searched for something to help with my stomach problems and finally I have found a product that actually works. No more bloating or constipation and I have more energy. All those products you refrigerate boasting 10 billion friendly bacteria do not come close to the quality of this product. I suffer lots with back pain and this product has even helped with my pain. Yes it is more expensive than other products but worth every penny. Remember you get what you pay for and this product works. Good luck.

I changed my diet to include more fibre, and my digestive system was struggling to cope. I thought I would have to live a life of constant wind and painful cramps after eating. Then…. I went to sweetshop and ate a whole bag of sugar free sweets. The sugar alcohols in them did not agree with me at all – in fact I experienced the worst stomach pain I had in my life. For the next two weeks, I experienced the kind of symptoms most people with a painful stomach ulcer get. If I didn’t eat every few hours, my stomach was gurgling and really painful, and I even had to get up in the night to eat to settle it down. Between that, and my change in diet, I was really suffering.

I was most disappointed with this purchase based on other previous buyers appraisals, hence my one star rating. While I accept that everyone is different I would have expected at least some benefit from taking this product considering the very high claims made by other users.

I find this product is excellent if you suffer with stomach problems which I do. It is expensive so I am pleased to find this 100 pack almost ten pounds cheaper than my local shop. Much as I like to support local business this is a lot of saving.

I had been struggling with bloating for over an year, it was really painful and debilitating. I had been to the doctors and tried several different pills which did nothing for me and then I came across this. It took about 15 days on 2-a-day to take effect, but my bloating and discomfort has completely stopped! I have been taking them now for around 6-months on 1-a-day and my digestive system keeps getting better and better! I highly recommend this product because it has changed my life!

I felt very unwell for several months with bloating, pain etc, and thought for a while that there was something quite serious going on. Almost as soon as I started taking these probiotics however, I was transformed into a person who could eat normally and enjoy life again. I would never be without them now, and if I forget to take them I definitely pay the price! They may seem expensive, but it’s money well spent if you are an IBS sufferer.

My doctor recommended Probio 7 for my IBS. I purchased a box in a well known herbal shop last month and they seem to be helping. I bought this box online because they were cheaper. I ordered them when I still had 2 weeks supply left so I would not run out before they arrived.

These probio capsules are extremely potent. They’re ideal for those who are just looking to cure problems relating to digestive help. I know they work for both bowel and urinary problems. That’s something a lot of people don’t realize. The acidophilus can help cure things like UTI and eliminate their recurrence in the future. I have found my ability to eat more foods without fear of problem to be a great benefit in my life.

After completing my Candida cleanse which consisted of Sodium Bicarbonate (2 weeks) then Methylene Blue and SB (5 days). My guts were really dry and I became aware my serotonin levels had dropped incredibly low and consequently so did my mood and motivation. That’s when I knew it was time for the next stage, which is to re-populate the gut with ‘good bacteria’. Its a widely held belief that the manufacture of serotonin (90% is produced in the gut) is a single step operation e.g. you eat, say, turkey and wait. Far from it, you need loads and loads of good bacteria to break the food down enough to get the serotonin out. As they say, ‘sort out your gut and you sort out your health’. Its a relief to feel my guts are in peace once more and everything has a predictable and comfortable routine. Especially, after all that I’ve been through the last couple of months e.g. becoming incredibly low on adrenal output, thinking it was fatigue, but finding out Candida was feeding off the nutrients meant for my adrenals e.g. B5 and B12. I think this product has been very helpful. I’m taking 3 capsules a day.

I have IBS and these are the only things that keep it under control. I’ve tried so many different things from changing my diet to prescribed medication. This is an absolute God send!

These capsules did nothing for me – made me constipated. Discarded a packet and a half. Won’t be buying them again.

These capsules certainly seem to do the job for me. Taken regularly on a daily basis and combined with a sensible diet, bloating and discomfort are now history. Don’t confuse these with the refrigerated probiotic yoghurt drinks from your local supermarket as they are not in the same league!

Having read other reviews I decided to try this product, I didn’t expect much – HOW WRONG I WAS, I can’t rate this product highly enough within 24 hours it made such a difference to my life in general, no more digestive problems – I take on every other day.

I started suffering from severe bloating. Initially I put it down to eating too much rubbish (sweet tooth of note) but then realised that weight gain doesn’t increase from a 26.5 inch waist to a 29 inch waist in 5 hours!!! And it was happening every night. So I tackled this issue on two fronts and as a result can’t be sure how much one impacted the other. Learning of candida overgrowth (stimulated by too much sugar) and its influence on bloating (among other more commonly known symptoms), I was advised to take a 2 week break from sugar. Living in London and cutting out sugar (which is in every processed meal, take away and condiment) was bloody hell. Awful. I also took two natural supplements to help control the excess candida (Olive leaf extract and Pau d’Arco). However, this on its own wasn’t going to be enough. I started the Probio course and within 24 hours the bloating lessened. By day two it was gone. Downside is though that by week 3 I started noticing a slight reaction in the form of a very mild case of acne. Nothing obvious but as acne is not an issue for me at 40 and so mildly annoying. But that lasted about a week and really is a result of your body clearing out and cleaning up so to speak. It also resulted in me being more ‘regular’ and helped clean out the plumbing further as it helps the bladder too. So yeah – lets just say folks that the sugar for me personally was getting in real excess. The 2 week journey to hell and back has allowed me to cut out a lot of rubbish (I say with great pride that I now drink coffee without my much wanted 2.5 spoons of sugar) and due to necessity demanding having to make a lot of meals from scratch with fresh ingredients, I’m losing the weight too. But I’m not going to stop these probio 7 – its terrific at keeping the bloating at bay. As you get older (or so all my internet research has taught me in the weeks leading up to this) your body produces less enzymes and you have a harder time breaking your food down. This is part of the reason for the extra gas and bloating you experience. So this product serves to give your digestive system a helping hand to gain more nutrients from your food and expel the unwanted stuff faster.

I appreciate that everyone is different so I’m simply reviewing my experience. These probiotics have made me balloon to full term pregnancy levels. They are the only change in my diet and I had a week off them where my tummy returned to normal and I lost 2.5kgs in weight. However, upon beginning to reuse them, on the first day onwards my tummy has bloated more and more. Very disappointing as I rarely get negative effects when using probiotics. Unfortunately my usual brand tripled in price so was looking for a cheaper alternative.

I have been unable to tolerate any milk products (cow, goat, sheep etc) for over 30 years, experiencing various ibs and other allergic type symptoms over the years, not life threatening, but uncomfortable and limiting. I read an article about probiotics helping to cure allergies so 6 months ago I started using these daily, just one per day and didn’t think too much about it after that. What I didn’t realise over these months (because I had cut out dairy products long ago) is that my intolerance had gone and whereas even a small piece of cheese or milk contained in a biscuit would affect me within 24hours, I am now able to eat cheese, ice cream, butter and for the first time in years don’t have to scan the ingredients of everything I buy to check for hidden dairy products. I’m guessing that the probiotics have healed my leaky gut syndrome which is apparantly often the cause of food intolerance. I don’t know, but all I can say is that these worked a miracle in my life, and if you knew me you would know the extent I’ve have to go to ensure I dont have dairy for the past 30 years! Its early days, one month, but my fingers are crossed! I’m not sure whether I need to continue with the probiotics indefinitely….maybe someone can enlighten me.

These probiotics are excellent. I have tried other brands but always come back to this. They contain helpful Prebiotics aswell which protect the probiotics whilst they travel to your gut. They do cause bloating in the first week or so but they are fantastic. Keep you “regular” and i was having terrible pains after antibiotics which are now gone. I will always take these now too boost digestion and immunity. Very good value too in the 100 box.
