What makes Jersey cows different?

Almost all milk comes from Holstein Friesian cows. Our milk comes from Jersey cows. They’re smaller and toffee coloured with soft white noses. They are curious, self confident and somewhat stubborn by nature.

Different cows make different milk. Jersey milk is richer and creamier than normal milk, is slightly thicker in consistency and naturally contains more fat and protein.

Not only that, but the milk from Jersey cows is more nutritionally superior to other cows!

Celebrating the story

With so many benefits to their milk, we want to celebrate the Jersey cows and their story.

That's why we've commissioned a local Jersey artist, Nicholas Romeril to design a limited edition glass milk bottle for mixing your bacteria and milk that showcases them.

In partnership with Holland Jersey

After testing many different milks, we found Jersey milk!

Not only does it make the most deliciously creamy yogurt, this premium milk is nutritionally superior to others.

Liquid Jersey milk cannot be imported to the UK from Jersey. That's when we found Holland Jersey, whose heard of Jersey cows originate from the island of Jersey.

We are proud to be partnering with Holland Jersey to provide the milk for our kits due to their high quality Jersey milk and ethical farming practices.

Hear from Becky Houzé

We've teamed up with Jersey cowgirl Becky Houzé to explain what makes Jersey cows so special.

She explains why they make the most delicious, nutrient packed milk.

The ecological footprint

Jersey cows have a lower ecological footprint than other breeds. This is because they are far more efficient at digesting their food and produce milk more efficiently too. More efficiency means less waste. Watch the video below to learn more.
